Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Shiyan, Hubei Province, known as the "Capital of Commercial Vehicles in China". It is the core business segment of medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles under Dongfeng Group. The Company originated from the Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant established in 1969, and became the Medium and Heavy-Duty Truck Division under Dongfeng Limited through a joint venture with Nissan in 2003. In 2013, Dongfeng Group concluded a strategic alliance with Volvo Group. In 2015, they jointly invested at a rate of 55:45 to establish Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd.

Founded on September 4, 1998, Harbin Dongan Automotive Engine Manufacturing Co., Ltd., referred to as Dongan Automotive or Dongan Mitsubishi, is invested and established by six enterprises from China, Japan and Malaysia.
